Dr. Vinson is Fiji’s Honorary Consul in Los Angeles. His business career over the last twenty years has included founding and managing professional consulting and service organizations. He is currently Chairman of Vinson & Company, a behavioral science consulting firm.
Dr. Vinson has also spent a number of years as an academic. He was Chairman of the Department of Marketing at the University of Southern California, and was a Professor of Business at UCLA's Graduate School of Management, and at Louisiana State University.
He has served as the United States Representative to the South Pacific Commission under both Presidents Bush and Clinton and was appointed to the Advisory Council, National Institutes of Health by President Bush. In addition, Dr. Vinson is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. and was Commissioner of the California Commission on Judicial Performance. He has been a member of numerous corporate, educational, and professional boards.
In 1966, Dr. Vinson graduated with a B.A. in Economics from the University of Arizona. He earned an M.S. in Marketing from UCLA in 1968. In addition, he earned an M.A. in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Marketing and Consumer Behavior from the University of Colorado in 1973.
