PASSPORT

APPLICATION FOR A FIJIAN PASSPORT

Issuance of Fiji Passports is centralized which means that no matter where in the world they may be lodged, they are referred to the Passport Division of the Department of Immigration in Suva for determination and issue.

Fiji issues three types of passport:

1. Ordinary Passports, is issued to Fiji Citizens. It is bright blue and is valid for ten years.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Completed application form
  2. Original birth certificate (full extract)
  3. Marriage certificate for change of name by marriage
  4. 2 passport size colored photographs (certified and signed by the same person witnessing the form)
  5. Valid photo identification card
  6. Statutory Declaration Form
  7. Current Immigration status and proof
  8. A reply-paid courier envelope (FEDEX/UPS, etc) to enable the Embassy to return your passport to you safely and promptly
  9. $US82.55 (money order or cashier's check only made payable to the Embassy of Fiji)

Renewal of Ordinary Passport

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Completed application form
  2. 2 passport size colored photographs (certified and signed by the same person witnessing the form on Question #22)
  3. Old passport book
  4. Statutory Declaration Form
  5. Current Immigration status and proof (permanent resident card, certificate of citizenship, etc)
  6. A reply-paid courier envelope (FEDEX/UPS, etc) to enable the Embassy to return your passport to you safely and promptly
  7. $US82.55 (money order or cashier's check only made payable to the Embassy of Fiji)


Renewal of Passport (Lost/Valid)

  1. Completed application form
  2. Original birth certificate (full extract)
  3. 2 passport size colored photographs (certified and signed by the same person witnessing the form on Question #22)
  4. Police report
  5. Statutory Declaration Form
  6. Valid photo identification card
  7. $US137.75 (money order or cashier's check only made payable to the

2. Diplomatic Passports-  issued to the President and spouse, the Prime Minister and spouse, Government officials working in Diplomatic Missions and Government Ministers. It is scarlet red and valid for ten years but subject to duration of appointment/official status.

3. Certificate of Identity (CI), issued for emergency purpose to facilitate travel can be issued to non-citizens and is mostly valid for one trip only. A CI may be issued by our diplomatic missions overseas but only to facilitate emergency travel.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completed application form (Incomplete or incorrect forms will be returned).
  • Three (3) recent passport size photographs (only 1 of which must be witnessed by a Notary Public).
  • Fees (US$92.00) in Money Order or Cashier’s Bank Check made payable to the EMBASSY OF FIJI.
  • Personal or company checks WILL NOT be accepted.
  • Passport and a notarized copy of US Green Card if alien resident. If applicant does not hold a Green Card, a short statement explaining visa status should be attached.
  • Original Birth Certificate. A photocopy is NOT acceptable.
  • Original Marriage Certificate (for married female applicants who wish to use a last name which differs from that shown in birth certificate).
  • Current Immigration status and proof
  • Police report if passport is stolen, newspaper advertisement regarding lost/stolen passport and statutory declaration (form enclosed) stating in detail when, where and how the passport was lost.
  • Letter of explanation for application for a Certificate of Identity.
  • A reply-paid courier envelope (FEDEX/UPS, etc) to enable the Embassy to return your passport to you safely and promptly

Fiji’s passports includes an ICAO compliant Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) at the bottom of the bio-data page and therefore meets the minimum ICAO requirements. The passports have some basic UV features and watermarks. A photo and signature is affixed to the passport and covered by a laminate. The documents are valid for ten years.
