FIJIAN PASSPORT UPDATE

Please be advised that Fiji is undergoing a national process of introducing new Electronic Machine-Readable Passports or "ePassports". In that regard, the Department of Immigration (DOI) will be extending/renewing the lifespan of expiring passports to another 10 years, provided they meet the requirements. The extension will be endorsed by a Passport Officer at the DOI and certified with an official stamp.

A. *PROCESSING OF CURRENT PASSPORT APPLICATIONS*

1. Those who have lodged their application for renewal can have their passports extended, while those who prefer to wait for the e-passport will be notified in due course.

2. The application fee is US$42.55 for renewal and $US97.75 for lost passports.

B. *REQUIREMENTS FOR PASSPORT RENEWAL*

1. Completed passport application form (link: http://www.immigration.gov.fj/images/pdfs/passport_form.pdf )

2. 1 passport sized photograph ( endorsed by someone who knows the applicant and is not a family member)

3. Old or current passport (in good condition for travel)

4. Confirmation of residency status (copy of green card or ID/Statutory declaration (https://fijiembassydc.com/Statutory%20Declaration%20Form.pdf )

5. The application fee of $US42.55

C. *REQUIREMENTS FOR LOST PASSPORT*

1. Completed passport application form (link: http://www.immigration.gov.fj/images/pdfs/passport_form.pdf)

2. 1 passport sized photograph (endorsed by someone who knows the applicant and is not a family member)

3. A police report from your nearest county is needed.

4. Confirmation of residency status (copy of green card or ID/Statutory declaration (https://fijiembassydc.com/Statutory%20Declaration%20Form.pdf)

5. The application fee of $US97.55

D. *WAY FORWARD*

The Embassy will continue to accept passport applications; however, issuance will be restricted to those seeking medical evacuation abroad and those submitting justifications for urgent travels due to current shortage
in passport stock.

Citizens with expired passports or whose passports are about to expire and still have leaflets can apply for renewal. The applications will be processed and endorsed on the same day.
